Brief

The existing property was a split level dwelling with a poorly designed south facing balcony and poor layout of the living spaces, all of which faced towards the lower level pool. Essentially the brief was to provide a more useful and better proportioned covered deck, accompanied by revitalized internal open plan living areas. Site constraints limited the area available for any additions or reworking of the dwelling.

Solution

The existing side deck, which was dark and cramped, was converted into a new Kitchen facing into the open plan dining/living space. This was accompanied by a broad bifolding window opening the entire space out to the extensive southern views to the bush and city beyond. Adjacent to the living areas a new, large timber deck with frameless balustrading was constructed, maximising the available space over the pool area. Three large water tanks were loated under the deck for water rcycling and reuse on site. Detailed items include the custom made L-shaped louvred screen, bespoke front entry door unit, and the renovated service spaces.
