ANZAC Parade House
Brief
When the owners of the Anzac Parade House approached Liquid Architecture, the existing Californian bungalow had recently been rendered and re-roofed. While the house was adequate for the owners in regards to its size, the owners felt that some of the spaces needed to be brought into line with modern standards and contemporary living.
Solution
The solution was a simple reworking of the house to increase its useability and overall functional flexibility. This involved the design of a deck, accessed from the principal living spaces, which created a semi-private outdoor space that was sheltered from the breeze and the western afternoon sun, but captured the south-west views that look out over Newcastle. The entry to the house was also addressed, creating a visually recognisable and covered access point to the house. While there were minimal changes to the plan, the interior of the house was modernised throughout.
